2 down, 4 to go!

I'm staying focused. I'm finishing my quilts... :) I keep telling myself that at least. Anyway... here's the turtle quilt all done. I love the backing fabric. And I love that its going to a child who was born in the i-pod era and may not listen to music on good ol' tapes!

And here's another baby quilt. Man... I do make a lot of baby quilts don't I. I really like how subtle this quilt is  though I have had some people say it is too light. What do you think? I love the back of this one. The fishy fabric is great for a little boy... or a girl I suppose... I would like it. :)

Had to show you this binding... it's so sweet.

Basting and Quilting

WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced

I've been basting and quilting this week. Finished the single turtle quilt but need to get some pictures. I wonder why I put off basting...the actual sewing does not take very long. It's probably all the layers of muslin I need to iron and lay flat as batting that makes me push it away... anyway...

Quilting this one for a friend who's ordered it for another friend's baby.

Basting the turtle quilt.
Signed up for my very first Quilt-a-long with Amanda Jean at Crazy Mom Quilts. I'm so far behind! I've just had the craziest couple of weeks. Feel bad but I should catch up soon. Fingers crossed.

Aaria's quilt and Noel and Mark's banners are finally done. On a finishing spree it seems.

Trying to get to the finish line...

I've decided to finish my unfinished projects before I start anything new... so except for the QAL at Crazy Mom Quilts I'm just focused on finishing up!

This is Aaria's second quilt.

And the banners for Mark and Noel are done.

Linking up to Fabric Tuesday.

Quilt Along with Amanda Jean :)

Signed up fir the QAL at Crazy Mom Quilts with Amanda Jean. I've always been a little afraid to join a QAL - I never really know if I will be able to find the required fabric here. This one however is a stash busting one and while I'm still nervous... I thought I should give it a try. So let's see how that turns out. :)

Mug Rug

Tried my hand at a mug rug and some more FMQ. Broke the needle doing it! I need to use a darning foot and a darning plate to FMQ on my machine. I'm still getting the hang of it. Does the stitch size matter at all? It seemed like the size of the stitch depended on how fast I moved the piece. A lot of strain on the fingers and wrists... don't know if I have the action down alright or if I just need to get a walking foot and a machine that will drop the feed dogs. Any advice would be much appreciated at this point. :)

Pincushions

I made a couple of pincushions for myself and then thought it would be a good gift for my friend Lois. So here they are. The one with the pinwheel is hers.

Addicted to half-square triangles!

I think I'm in love with half-square triangles! They are so versatile and such fun to put together. I feel like I'm working with a large puzzle with all my HSTs on the floor... making different patterns.

This one was really quick! Finished it up in one afternoon.

W.i.P. Wednesday

WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced
Linking up to W.i.P Wednesday this week from my new Happy Turtle blog. :) Fabric Tuesday is not happening this week. :(

Aaria's mum has ordered Aaria's second quilt! Here's the first one and the very first one I ever made. I need to get this done this week.

Also have an order for a little boy. The parents want a single though... they want him to use it longer. It's tough planning fabric for the future. I ran this by my nephew and he thinks its not cool enough for a man! Well, I don't think we're looking at making it for a man really but my nephew is 7! Anyway, using some "cool" fabric for the backing so maybe when he gets too old for turtles he can use the back. :)

And started a Friendship Star quilt today as well. :)
