Carpenter's Star - WIP

I bought Aspen Frost by Basic Grey for Moda last Christmas and wanted to make a Carpenter's Star wall hanging for our home. I drew up the pattern, figured everything out and for some reason didn't actually sew anything! Then of course once the season passes it's hard to motivate myself to sew for Christmas. This year I decided I would get this done! Aspen Frost is a beautiful collection. I wish I had more of this fabric. It's gorgeous.

I used a Charm Pack and yardage from the line.

Simple Marks Wall Hanging is on the Wall!

I finished this wall hanging a few months ago but hadn't put it up. I didn't want to call it a finish till I actually had it on my wall - so now, I can say - My wall hanging is finished! And now that it's on my wall I can't stop staring at it! :)

We got the rod from Ten Thousand Villages on The Danforth. Really love the rod and I think it goes really well with the rustic feel of  Malka Dubrawsky's Simple Marks.

Wall Hanging from Simple Marks

I fell in love with Simple Marks by Malka Dubrawsky when it came into the store a few months ago. I quickly bought a charm pack. Made this wall hanging top recently using the charm squares and a Disappearing Nine Patch Block. I didn't want to do too much with the squares... the fabric is so beautiful even just making four patches would have been great. Need to be quilted and I hope I get that done early January. I want this to go up after the Christmas decorations comes down. :)

We finally had some snow in Toronto and I was able to get these pictures on our balcony.

Improv Piecing is great!

My first improv piece and quilt as you go project... and all done in an evening! So satisfying. :)

Has some batik strips. Used a backing and piece of batting... ironed out the strips and pieced away.

For Nidhi :)

I love this fabric. The flowers just pop out at you! I made this as a Thank You for my friend Nidhi who designed my Happy Turtle logo for me. She loved it and I think her daughter has already stolen the bag from her... or is at least trying to. :)

And this little wall hanging is also for Nidhi. She's got it up on her board at work she tells me. :)
