Fabric picks for Sew Alongs

I chose a few fabrics from my stash to begin with. I still need to find more but it's a start. I'm going with red, aqua, green, and pink/coral. Still have to decide on a background. Should I just go with white/snow... or maybe an ash... not sure. Have some thinking to do!

So I started with the two Riley Blake Fabrics and picked colors from there. They came home with me some time ago and I guess this is their time! :)

Good Weekend

I've had a great weekend. :) First I got my machine. I started my second quilt - this one is for my nephew. I decided to ditch the pillow case and go the whole hog with it! So it's going to be a twin. I have to get this, and the other one I made for my niece quilted before they arrive in July so... this is going to be a marathon!

I'm learning a lot about stretching fabric. I didn't worry so much about stretch when I was working with fabric back home. I don't know if we just had tighter weaves... fabric here does seem to stretch more.

Then my friend brought me back some fabric from her vacation. Very sweet. That's here.

So I just had to pull out all my fabric and look at it. :)
The stash is growing... slowly but steadily.

• Heather Bailey's Bijoux collection is quite lovely. We have the Mod Beads in green, rose, and yellow. 
• Absolutely love Dragonfly Daze. Reminds me of a Gerrald Durrel book I read when I was a kid. Feel like going into the woods with a net and a jar!

There's so many more bolts in those boxes that I can't wait to get to! Have stacked up two boxes worth to upload on Tuesday. Check the store site to see what's New in January!

My fat quarter arrived!

A couple of weeks ago I won Barbara's Fun Fact Friday Freebie at Cat Patches. My fat quarter arrived in the mail today! I love it! Thank you Barbara!

My very first fabric purchase in Toronto

I bought these fat quarters on sale at the Sew Sisters Quilt Shop booth and the show. They make me so very happy. I have to wait till I can sew them... but I'm sure that day will come soon too. :)
